Learn to Speak Spanish Software :

Hola, mi nombre es Richard. ¿Cómo hace usted hoy? Me gustaría tomar esta oportunidad de decirle sobre como aprendí a decir el español.
"Hi, my name's Richard. How are you today? I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about how I learned to speak Spanish.

So you want to learn Spanish. There are many ways that you could learn a foreign language, but I'm only going to talk about the one I used. I used software to learn to speak Spanish. I like the ability to set my own pace learning that home study affords me, and I'm too shy to feel comfortable in a classroom setting.

The market is flooded with language instruction software, some of it great, others that aren't so good. You have started out right, by doing your research before you buy. You want to make sure that the course you purchase is going to suit your particular learning style and is going to be comprehensive to at least provide you with a conversation level of Spanish fluency.

After doing my own research, I found Tell Me More. I found that although theirs is not the cheapest program out there that it came with everything that I was looking for personally. The program includes video lessons, speech recognition software to help correct pronunciation issues as well as regular podcasts of news delivered in Spanish to immerse you in the language. There are printable worksheets so that you can test your comprehension. What I liked about the program was that the software was built to help me learn to speak Spanish like a native Spanish-speaker.

The other programs that I found seemed more based on school based learning; conjugating verbs and building understanding of how the language was used. While that's important, what you are learning is how to read and write Spanish and that isn't very effective for communicating while on vacation in a Spanish speaking nation. I think of it this way, now many rules of English usage do I break in my speech that I wouldn't in my writing? It is the same with Spanish.

I am sure there are other quality software suites that can help you learn to speak Spanish, but I can't speak to their quality because I haven't used them. As I have said, do your own research and make up your own mind on what will work best for you. Good luck, and remember to have fun!
